Mazatapec is a Nahuatl word and the name of a small town where the first sample of this variety was collected. "Maza" means deer and "tepec" means hill or mountain. It's one of the first varieties of cubensis brought to the west, and believed that the original sample was brought by Robert Gordon Wasson (although this is debated) in the 1950s. Maria Sabina consumed mushrooms around the same area where the original Mazatapec variety was collected. This mushroom has a very interesting history if you want to google it and read up on it. Swabs carefully collected in front of flow hood and sterile packaged. Please note: All genetics are intended for microscopy and taxonomy purposes only.
